The Barking & Dagenham Progress Project endeavours to ensure that disabled children & young people will be able to gain equal access to similar activities, resources & programmes to those available for children in mainstream youth provision, integrate into mainstream Children’s activities and work towards being able to live independently in the future through personal and skills development. Organisations working with disabled children & young people will have access to appropriate and high quality activity space, resources and capacity building support in order to deliver their programmes effectively.
Our Young People’s Development Forum [YPDF] is the first project of its kind providing a resource for engaging disabled children & young people enabling them to identify their own development needs, and empowers them to lead on planning, arranging, delivering and measuring their own activities.
Our Sporting Futures Project focusses on Inclusive Sports for disabled children and young people in the community, accredited Sports Leadership courses for disabled children and young people and Volunteering.
The YPDF “Volunteer Challenge” – this is a new project which will come on-line during Winter 2016 providing our older members (18+) with a pathway to support the project as volunteers and then be empowered to move on to other [adult] services.
